    I’ve seen various versions of the story that Dean Phillips is interested in No Labels. I have seen no indication that even No Labels is interested in Dean Phillips.

    Trump wants to send troops to the inner cities. A top senator wants to rein him in.

    Nothing racist about that, no, no, nothing at all.

    I am beginning to think Dean Phillips just wants the attention.

    Well, he sure as shit isn’t getting the attention of DEMs, most of whom look at him as just another homeless guy standing on a corner.

    Donald Trump ordered to pay The New York Times and its reporters nearly $400,000 in legal fees.

    So. Much. Winning.

    I find that Axios column disturbing. Even if it’s just a small percentage of Democrats who feel that way, I’m in the camp of “JFC, wasn’t one term bad enough? WHY would you even RISK a second term?” Hopefully this is just people spouting off what they think is “political analysis” and not actually crossing lines to vote that way.

    No one should be joking around on this. Trump is a very real threat.

    I find this recent letter from No Labels to the Justice Department fascinating, partly because of the desperation it seems to signal. I mean, both asking the Justice Department to investigate your political opponents, plus publicizing that fact? And I thought Trump was getting bad legal advice. At least he was the head of the Justice Department for a time, so I can understand why he’d think he could do that.

    And it appears that the Democratic powers that be have found out where their line for political consultant grifting is, too. And/or that the delusions of some politicians are boundless.

    I do not understand what a Joe Lieberman, for example, thinks he’s accomplishing here, unless he’s in the “Some men just want to watch the world burn” stage of his life. I mean, the Ron DeSantis/Nikki Haley candidacies were unlikely; No Labels chance of doing anything other than make a Trump victory more likely is even more remote.

    Not even close. A homeless guy you can feel sorry for.

    @OzarkHillbilly: and let’s not forget the extra $83 million or so he owes E. Jean Carroll, now. Which is actual money he needs to find in the next 30 days, or he can start having assets seized, even if he appeals. I’ll note his reaction to the verdict didn’t mention her at all.

  8. Rick DeMent says:

    No Labels will be exposed as a spoiler party that is just as partisan as any other after being asked one question…

    What is your stance on abortion?

  9. Joe says:

    @Kevin: He should have to put up a bond to appeal, so that money is tied up one way or another.

  10. Kathy says:

    @Joe:

    Wait til he hears what kind of financing terms and fees will come attached to the bond, seeing as he has also a pending judgment of perhaps as much as $370 million.

  11. CSK says:

    @Kevin:

    Trump may have finally learned to keep his big, stupid, facial anus closed. How long he will continue to do so is another matter.

  12. Kathy says:

    @CSK:

    Not very long.

    While the anal sphincter is under conscious control, eventually enough fecal matter builds up so that Lardass can no longer contain it. Then it bursts forth.

    I think Occam’s razor says various glibertarian donors want No Labels to drain votes from Biden and Joe Lieberman wants to get this hands on some of that money.

    @Kathy:

    It might be interesting to start a betting pool.

    Maybe No Labels does represent America then, tapping into the apathy we all feel for Dean Phillips.
