What about Spirit and Opportunity?
Good catch phrase, but still not a political post. One of the things I’ve followed closely this year is our exploration of Mars. The two Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity are still going, well beyond expectations.
One of the rovers actually has recently experienced a power boost which may have been caused, according to one theory, by a ‘dust devil’ that might have cleared some of the solar panels.
Opportunity and its twin, Spirit, parachuted to opposite sides of Mars back in January, but they remain in good shape after enduring the worst of the Martian winter, which cut down on the amount of energy reaching their solar panels.
The main site for information is the NASA Mars Exploration Rover Mission home page. A site I still try to check every few weeks for new information.
