Some Comparative Video

Since I was thinking about 2016

I thought of this video from the 2016 campaign at some point yesterday.

Contrast with the following from this week.

No puppet, indeed.

Really, the entire meeting in Alaska was Trump dancing on strings that Putin was pulling.

And for kicks, another trip down memory lane via the BBC: Trump sides with Russia against FBI at Helsinki summit.

At a news conference after the summit, President Trump was asked if he believed his own intelligence agencies or the Russian president when it came to the allegations of meddling in the elections.

“President Putin says it’s not Russia. I don’t see any reason why it would be,” he replied.

US intelligence agencies concluded in 2016 that Russia was behind an effort to tip the scale of the US election against Hillary Clinton, with a state-authorised campaign of cyber attacks and fake news stories planted on social media.

No puppet!!

  2. Scott F. says:

If we are doing call backs, there’s video of Kamala Harris from less than a year ago stating, “[Trump] says, ‘Oh, well, I’d solve that in a day.’ Well, I don’t think we as Americans think that the president of the United States should solve an issue like that through surrender and understand that’s what would happen. Vladimir Putin would be sitting in Kyiv if Donald Trump were president.”

Harris lost, in part, because the press and the punditry didn’t allow that she was right about what a blowhard, coward, strong man admirer Trump was/is. Much as it didn’t allow that Clinton was right in 2016.
