Ad For Ron Paul’s Newsletter Forecast Race War
Reuters reports that an ad used in the mid-90s to advertise Ron Paul’s controversial newsletter contained some pretty incendiary material:
A direct-mail solicitation for Ron Paul’s political and investment newsletters two decades ago warned of a “coming race war in our big cities” and of a “federal-homosexual cover-up” to play down the impact of AIDS.
The eight-page letter, which appears to carry Paul’s signature at the end, also warns that the U.S. government’s redesign of currency to include different colors – a move aimed at thwarting counterfeiters – actually was part of a plot to allow the government to track Americans using the “new money.”
The letter urges readers to subscribe to Paul’s newsletters so that he could “tell you how you can save yourself and your family” from an overbearing government.
The letter’s details emerge at a time when Paul, now a contender for the Republican nomination for president, is under fire over reports that his newsletters contained racist, anti-homosexual and anti-Israel rants.
I’ve embedded the letter below so you can read it in all it’s glory. On the final page, you will see that it is sent out over Ron Paul’s signature.
Ron Paul Newsletters Solicitation Letter Regarding “Race War”
It’s obvious Dr. Ron Paul, M.D., FACOG, LLC, DOB did not write that! All you need to do is ignore his name at the top and signature at the bottom, but you won’t do that because you’re paid millions by the military-industrial complex/Federal-homosexual conspiracy alliance to smear Dr. Ron Paul, M.D., FACOG, LLC, DOB because you hate peace and truth and justice and puppies!
Just dialed 1 800 RON PAUL. A pleasant voice answered ” Ron Paul’s office.”
Must have been the other Ron Paul.
And the quarterback is toast!
(Christmas is coming up…gotta dig up my Die Hard DVD.)
@Herb:
Now I have a newsletter. Ho. Ho. Ho.
The underlying theme: the takers are coming for the makers! classRace war!
isn’t really much different than the core argument of the GOP today. The newsletter just didn’t bother dog-whistling and went with a bullhorn.
@Herb: @Rob in CT:
We’re gonna need some more FBI guys, I guess (to track you using $100 bills, muahahaha!).
There was an editing error. It was supposed to say “Rice War.” Doctor Paul won’t say who made the proofreading error, though.
The real import of this story is that after combing through Ron Paul’s life for the last twenty years, this was the best they could come up with to attack him; a subscription letter that “appears” to have his signature on it.
Think any of the other candidates would survive a search of the last 20 years of their lives with so little to show for it?
