Kilmeade: No Friend to the Homeless

He has a solution for homelessness.

Note: Matt Bernius beat me to the punch on this topic, but since I am making a slightly different point, here’s my take as well.

As we try to come to terms with political violence, both real and threatened, let’s not lose sight of the ongoing attempt to dehumanize.

The latest example, Brian Kilmeade’s rather grotesque solution (of a very final variety) for homelessness.

More details via The Independent: Fox News’ host Brian Kilmeade says ‘just kill ‘em’ during discussion about mentally ill homeless people.

I know that here on the site there has been some ongoing debate over whether elements of the American right ought to be called “fascist” or not, and that, further, some on the right are currently blaming such rhetoric for Kirk’s assassination.

However, when the administration believes that it has the right to summarily execute foreign civilians on the mere suspicion that they are drug dealers, and when one of the hosts of one of Trump’s favorite shows thinks killing the homeless is a policy possibility, the appropriateness of the terms comes more and more into sharp focus

Way too much casual talk about killing. I think these people watch too much TV and think it’s reality.
