Speaking of Republican members of Congress unwilling to have opinions about highly problematic statements and actions from Trump, note Senator Cornyn (R-TX), a guy who wanted to be Majority Leader, deal with the question of whether the J6 Committee should be jailed (start around the 52-second mark).

The business with Infowars and The Onion is disappointing, but not completely unexpected, given how the Onion team kind of “gamed” the system. It was legitimate in the sense of being in good faith, and offering a better deal to the Texas plaintiffs. But not exactly an expected sort of procedure.
They will do it again, and Jones’ teams bid (he has some shadowy investor trying to put him back in business) will have to account for it. Which is good.
Hmm, my tea leaf reading, which is suspect, notes that Ernst said, “I look forward to a fair hearing which is based on truth, not anonymous sources”.
Ernst, I’m sure, voted to confirm CQ Brown as Chair of the Joint Chiefs. She also probably is not thrilled with Hegseth’s complaint about women in combat roles.
Ernst clearly has a political problem she needs to solve, and “ignoring anonymous reports” seems like a good way for her to solve it.
So, there are plenty of material reasons to be wary of Hegseth – things that are attested to by non-anonymous sources – and Hegseth needs to be careful what he wishes for.
As for the “Governor Trudeau” and “The Great State of Canada”, it’s an insult to everyone in Canada, not just Trudeau. Don’t know how JT will handle it, but I wonder if he can’t get Conservatives to join with him.
Further, we will never know how trashy he can get. We will only know how trashy he was able to get by the time when he improves the world by leaving it.
This really is the reality TV presidency. Via the NYT: Amid Rumors of a Breakup, Kimberly Guilfoyle Is Named Ambassador to Greece.
While I can understand Donald Jr. wanting to get his ex banished to another continent, I think Greece should reject the ambassador and require a current member of the Trump family. Maybe Barron?
(“But, dad, all my friends are saying that Cypress is and always has been Greek, and that Macedonia is just Greece.”)
If I were Trudeau, I would start by rejecting the US Ambassador to Canada. And keep rejecting until proper respect is made.
Does anyone in America really want Canada to get nukes?
RE: Trudeau–this is not how you treat other world leaders. Ever. Especially allies.
This is juvenile, bullying behavior and it is not only unnecessary, but unwise.
It’s going to be a long four years unless/until Trump gets hip-checked by another world leader. I hope it happens soon, because JFC.
Wait, is Fax News acknowledging climate change? Did we slip into another parallel timeline again?
You didn’t expect the GQP Senate caucus to collapse this quickly? Really?
@Kathy:
Some call it Fux News.

@Kathy:
So the progression goes like this:
Republican media floats the idea of a previously denied immovable reality .
Republican politics considers, then claims it for their own.
Then they blame liberals for it.

@Jay L Gischer:
Just when you think Trump can’t possibly get any trashier, he does.
@CSK:
I’ve stopped thinking that.
