Am I the only person who finds this profile pic creepy?
Warning: I cannot in good conscience recommend reading many of that account’s tweets.
Then again, we were called sycophants yesterday–technically a misuse of the term–though this person fits the definition better if she is trying to gain prominence. Plus, she clearly fits the common usage of the word.
@Kurtz: Blond-haired, blue-eyed women willing to prostrate themselves at the feet of the Orange Lord are in high demand on the grifter circuit. Grifter’s gonna grift.
Short illustration on how bad things are for Boeing right now.
Commercial jets take time to build. Figures are often stated in planes per month, rather than per day. So an order backlog, planes ordered which won’t be made and delivered for some time (ie years), is common. It’s also how you measure current and future commercial success.
Airbus’s backlog is over 8,500 aircraft.
Boeing’s backlog stands at a little under 5,600
That’s a difference of over 50% in Airbus’s favor.
The graph on deliveries at the link also demonstrates how bad the MAX debacles are. Notice the drop in 2019, when the type was grounded and deliveries weren’t made (even though planes were still produced). And again in 2024 after the door plug blow out and a mandated reduction in how many planes Boeing can make per month.
@Kurtz:
Man, you’ve been channeling your inner psychologist/psychiatrist lately. Eg, spotting “the look” in this post, name dropping Freud in another one, perceptively and productively summarizing a certain style of engaging on this forum, etc. I say this as a compliment. Mostly.
Sheila Jackson Lee has died.
@Mimai:
Thank you. You’re a butthead.
George Conway has former the Anti-Psychopath PAC.
No word from the medical team that actually treated him, but Trump has released a letter from Dr. Ronny Jackson describing his ear injury.
@CSK: Now if I cared about his ear injury, I’d be all set. But I don’t. It’s a distraction. His escape from the grim reaper, who hired a kid known to be as bad as shooting straight as I am,* didn’t make him any more qualified to be Prez than he’s ever been. He’s always been unqualified and still is.
*Ask Luddite about our trips to the pistol range. The story about how I killed the target easel with a .44 is a particular favorite of mine. [ Thumbs up emoji]
@just nutha:
That’s true, but remember that unlike a late SC Justice, you didn’t shoot anyone in your party “accidentally ” with that same pistol. And the Bulldog was a little small for your hands.
But in all fairness, you were a better than decent shot with a 12 or 20 gauge pump and clays.
The US has the most and oldest legislators for rich nations. The most 80+, the most 71-80 yr olds. But old age claiming its due and likely to increase for a few years.
