    I had been meaning to post on the Miller clip. MAGA (both the campaign and it’s supporters here) regularly tell us that we cannot trust the FBI data that shows most crime going down in the US.

    And then they turn around and suggest the data shared by the Venezuelan government. You know, the one that just faked an election.

    Oh… I guess that despite him being a leftist, Trump respects Maduro for doing what he could not.

    No, it’s just that he’ll always slavishly genuflect to those that he perceives are stronger than he is.

    Elon Musk is absolutely not a ‘free speech absolutist’

    Water continues to be wet. Sunrise continues to rise in the east. Generalissimo Franco is still dead.

    Trump Has Crossed a Truly Unacceptable Line.

    Bwa haha hahahaha hahahahahaha. Not to the true believers.

    I’ll pass on St Ronnie s staff comments.

    But the last bit was truly hysterical. Luddite loves him a good meltdown!

  5. @Flat Earth Luddite: @Joe: Yeah, I had the same reaction to the headline. I thought she made sufficiently good points to share the link.

    The article on Musk’s willingness to suppress opponents of authoritarian regimes contains this howler from history’s greatest political philosopher:

    Like I said, my preference is to hew close to the laws of countries in which Twitter operates. If the citizens want something banned, then pass a law to do so, otherwise it should be allowed.

    The Venezuelan journalist showed, as have a few other of his peers lately, that if you don’t let the interviewee dodge the question, you’re doing your job, and a public service.

    Taxation is only theft in the US. The US is the only one with rigged elections.

    It amuses me when anti-immigration folks will complain about government intervention in the economy as tyrannical but then turn around and say that economic migrants aren’t legitimate–they should fix their own countries.

    @Steven L. Taylor:

    No, her points were absolutely spot on. But once again, I remain convinced that %rump could murder someone in downtown NYC, on live television, and not lose a vote. For that matter, I suspect that he could be caught “with a live boy or a dead girl” (as the scandal tag from my youth used to refer to it) and not lose more than (maybe) 10 votes total, nationally. To say that I just don’t get it is a vast understatement.
