Only 70%? That’s a pretty high number given that most of those CEO’s were probably Trump supporters and pretty much all of them had convinced themselves that what the economy needed is the rapist who bankrupted a casino.

Trump is of course objectively more dangerous than MS-13. Not just because he’s a corrupt psychopath but because he’s POTUS. The most powerful person in the world. Whereas MS-13 is a gang lacking – as far as we know – aircraft carriers and ICBMs. But Trump does add an extra layer of danger, much the way a gun is always dangerous, but even more so in the hands of a toddler.

I expect to see headlines touting that HIV has disappeared since Trump took over following the RFK Jr decision to hobble data collection.

Well, Alito submitted his dissent today (joined by Thomas), in which he claims,

“while alleging that the applicants were in imminent danger of removal, provided little concrete support for that allegation.” He noted that while the court did not hear directly from the government regarding any planned deportations under the Alien Enemies Act in this case, a government lawyer in a different matter had told a U.S. District Court in a hearing Friday evening that no such deportations were then planned to occur either Friday or Saturday.

Meanwhile, NBC News is reporting that a bus loaded with prisoners, headed for an airport, and accompanied by a motorcade, had to turn around.

“We hear they are on buses on the way to the airport,” said Lee Gelernt, the ACLU lawyer arguing on behalf of detainees on the verge of being deported under the Alien Enemies Act.

Upon learning the information, Boasberg asked Justice Department lawyer Drew Ensign to make calls to ensure no flights were deporting immigrants from Bluebonnet under the Alien Enemies Act on Friday night.

Ensign said that he understood there would be no flights Friday night and that he was “not aware of any plans” for flights Saturday but that the Department of Homeland Security reserved the right to conduct flights Saturday.

Even though I can parse that out in a way that doesn’t make Ensign a liar, it’s clear that its misleading, and that this administration, even in court, cannot be trusted.

It is still up for grabs how Chief Roberts got hold of this since it should have gone to Alito, who likely would have sat on it.

    @Michael Reynolds:

If Luddite had to guess, he’s a-thinkin that someone’s clerk or ja noticed it come in and ratted (er, I mean, called upstairs to advise that the fecal matter was in a fiery bag) on Alito’s desk.

    Or maybe just a co-inky-dink.

But that’s because Luddite’s worked in big law where some partners were dispised as untrustworthy hacks.

@Jay L Gischer: Alito might be so naive he still thinks this regime would never lie to a court, or he may be so thoroughly MAGAtised he’s willing to trash his own institution’s authority for the cause of a MAGA dictatorship. I would lean to the latter explanation.

I really appreciated the comprehensive de-pantsing administered by breaking the story a bus load of prisoners had actually been approaching the airport at midnight right when he was asserting there was “no good reason to think that, under the circumstances, issuing an order at midnight was necessary or appropriate”.

As always, Trump does good theater to get ratings. There were more vehicles with flashing blue lights escorting the bus than attend your average mass shooting.

I recall the common “wisdom” re Trump around the election:
“You should take him seriously, not literally”
    Oops.
