Fetterman is right on this. The Democrats ran on killing the filibuster. Even if the only thing this shutdown accomplished is a dead filibuster, I think it would have been worth it.
We should have a government that can function, and people should get the government they vote for. This might make them less likely to vote for lunatics.
This is why people were woefully unprepared to understand anything about the racist podcaster shooter — the sexual politics in Groyperland makes absolutely no sense.
You can try to map it onto something sensical, but you lose a lot in the process, and end up thinking “if the shooter was dating a trans woman, he must be liberal” rather than “getting involved with a woman is gay, because of cuddling, so the less gay option is to find a man who can be a woman so you can both play call of duty afterwards instead of all that emasculating cuddling.”
Black is white*, up is down, and heterosexual sex is gay.

The filibuster won’t be killed, there are too many senators, on both sides of the aisle, that want to avoid hard votes.
I wonder what Fetterman’s next career will be?
There’s an update on the hit-and-run pickup driver who struck the No Kings protester. According to Cleveland 19 News, Driver identified and charged for Jackson Township hit and run, the 77-year-old driver was straddling two lanes, nearly hit another vehicle, and then breached the curb and hit the person who said they were standing about 2 feet from the curb at the time. According to police, the victim’s injuries did not rise to the level of felony charges.
