“Thak God It’s Tabs”??
Other than everyone, no one.
You know, it really does feel good to see Rudy have to hand over his apartment and 28 luxury watches.
Meanwhile, Musk is now name-checking Dominion, and Dominion has noticed. How long is it going to be until they sue him for a billion?
Musk is not somebody who checks with lawyers before saying crap. That’s his track record.
@Jay L Gischer: except they’re going to have to show damages and Elon is such a dingbat that the very fact of his running his mouth with crazy accusations won’t be enough. (There are accusations which are considered damaging just by their existence, but I don’t think Elon is going to accuse Dominion of having a STD.)
Meanwhile, I really don’t get the Keyser Soze reference.
From the NBC News piece, Montana Senate candidate says he was ‘medically discharged’ from the Navy. Records say otherwise…
Weird that he would feel compelled to make false statements about his honorable military service. The confounding gunshot wound story has been out there for a while, but the medical discharge claims are apparently newer.
But no revelations can make much of a dent at this point. In addition to hardened opinions and partisan loyalty, Montana is a big mail-in ballot state. And looking at the latest numbers, a majority of registered voters were sent absentee ballots, and nearly half of those ballots have already been returned.
@Jay L Gischer: At the end of the movie (The Usual Suspects), the camera follows Kevin Spacey, who spent the film walking with a limp, and it catches as his gait changes to normal…he is Keyser Soze. I think it’s suggesting that Biden’s never been the stumbling mess that Republicans are blathering on about.
@Jen: Which, by the way, is the major spoiler of the movie.
@Kathy: I guess I could have seen it coming, if I remembered that Mel Gibson exists.
Did he go full QAnon, or just MAGA? Eh, who cares, 6 of one, two dozen of the other, don’t like either.
@Joe: I think Kevin Spacey being a creepy sex pest spoils the movie more.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Spacey_sexual_misconduct_allegations
It’s like my parents always told me: live your life so there isn’t a Wikipedia page devoted to your sexual misconduct allegations.
(For the record, I do not believe the allegation that Spacey sexually assaulted the then-15-year-old Anthony Rapp when he was 27, because I simply do not believe Kevin Spacey was ever younger than 40)
Weirdly, knowledge of the many accusations makes his role in Baby Driver make much more sense, as it adds some much needed motivations to his character who is otherwise behaving inexplicably.
@Grumpy realist: a dingbat with massive amounts of money and a fan following that is perfectly willing to harass people… I think they might be able to show damages.
@Gustopher:
Not to mention the $787.5 million they got from Rupert Prince of Darkness buys a lot of lawyering.
@Jen: I’ve seen the movie, so it didn’t spoil it for me. I didn’t recall the visual, though.
In my world, it is often the case that a person is both talented and a jerk. This probably describes, to some extent, Kevin Spacey.
@Gustopher:
Or care about what he says.
I think the moment I understood the difference between a Hollywood Star and an actual actor was watching “Ransom”, starring Mel Gibson and costarring Gary Sinise. Gibson emoted!!! and howled and thrashed, collapsed in despair and exploded up in anger. Meanwhile, Sinise conveyed a level of evil and menace without ever raising his voice, and pencil sketched a history of abuse and retribution against those around him by just asking a few questions.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a Mel Gibson movie through and through, but worth sitting through to watch Sinise give a masterclass. As I write this, I wonder if part of the reason he played it the way he did was a very subtle comment on Gibson’s over acting.
@Jay L Gischer:
Sure. But for me personally, there is a level of ‘jerk’ that ruins my ability to appreciate or enjoy the talent any more. Kevin Spacey and Bill Cosby, to pick two, fall into that category. Not saying you should feel the same way.
@MarkedMan:
Which is why Gibson in “Lethal Weapon 1” and the “Mad Max” films was effective. He was playing a driven semi-nutcase, and was quite able to portray such.
Method acting for the win.
😉
@Joe: I did think of that, but the movie came out in 1995. It’s been a while.
