Via Digital Trends: Japan scientist synthesizes meat from human feces
The “meat” is 63% proteins, 25% carbohydrates, 3% lipids and 9% minerals. The researchers color the poop meat red with food coloring and enhance the flavor with soy protein. Initial tests have people saying it even tastes like beef.

Gross, but great title!
No shit?
And it doubles as a plant fertilizer!!!
Poop, what can’t it do?
@ Rodney…
“…No shit? “
Win.
I think I’m ready to break the laws of physics and become a Perpetual Ingestion Machine.
Will the two years I spent working at a municipal sewage treatment plant count as credit at Le Cordon Bleu?
Soylent Brown? Why did I think this post would be about the California Governors new plan to supplement food stamps?
Never choose the brown yogurt, from here on out.
For God’s sake, don’t tell Taco Bell.
No poop? lol, I meant NO POOP!!!!! This is not surprising coming from Japan. And no, if you don’t know, I’m not gonna explain…
I smell a hoax…
That ain’t a hoax, that’s my lunch I just made….
I’m surprised no one has done this yet, maybe too obvious.
“You tell everybody. Listen to me, Hatcher. You’ve gotta tell them! Soylent Brown is FECAL! We’ve gotta stop them somehow!”

Along these line, I keep thinking of this:
Phil Hartman – Soylent Green by Cinecruche
Theory:
This is some sort of PETA political thing. If you think about it, we fertilize corn with manure, then feed it to cows, when we then eat. So you could argue that in a sense we already eat beef made from feces, albeit indirectly.
So I wouldn’t be suprised if after this sloshes around in the news for a bit, they come out with a follow up along the lines of “if you thought that was disgusting, that’s how real beef is made”.
Looking on google, using processed sewage sludge to produce animal feed is an increasingly common agricultural practice. So again, I think this may be the warm up for an attack on animal farming.
I guess they were inspired by the human ventipede…
I think it’s a joke. Someone is just trying to get us to do research and buy in to it. They wouldn’t do that to their own country. They would love to see us do it to ours.
