Blogiversary
The Command Post, of which I’m an occasional contributor, is celebrating its one year anniversary this weekend.
It was phenomenally successful during the war, serving as a major source of breaking news during major combat operations and for a while after. It has now branched into all manner of things–including things like election coverage–beyond its original mandate but is still a useful source for breaking news on terrorism and other world events.
You can subscribe to the mailing list and get “alerts” e-mailed to you for breaking stories, which can be useful if you’re stuck in an office without television or radio coverage. It’s easy and free although it has one of my pet peeves: Why isn’t United States the default selection in the drop-down box? Surely, the modal Internet user is still American.
Thanks for the note, James, and for your contributions over the past year. Re: the mailing list country default … why you ask? Because I didn’t think of it! Thanks again for supporting the site …
