Steven L. Taylor is a retired Professor of Political Science and former College of Arts and Sciences Dean. His main areas of expertise include parties, elections, and the institutional design of democracies. His most recent book is the co-authored A Different Democracy: American Government in a 31-Country Perspective. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas and his BA from the University of California, Irvine. He has been blogging since 2003 (originally at the now defunct Poliblog).

I take it this is also a note on current weather in the sunny South?
In OH this 40 – 50 deg weather would have been a pleasant midwinter break. Now, after a few years in SW FL, it seems damn cold. I’m not used to this stuff anymore. But we’re south of the snow. 10″ a couple days ago in Milton FL, along the Gulf of America coast in the panhandle.
@gVOR10: We had about 4+ inches of snow on Tuesday and there is still some on the ground as type. The last time we got significant accumulation was 2018. The wild thing is that they got more snow south of us, including at the beach (as you note).
@CSK: I made some prints and they almost look like a painting. I am quite pleased!
