Simply beautiful … there really is beauty all around us, it’s there, we just need to slow down and notice it

After a 50 mile drive I finish my commute by taking the first early morning ferry across the San Francisco Bay every day. I usually go to the deck and take in the morning sunrise or moon set, and the beginning of the day always gives me something. It’s a peaceful and meditative time of day, and I take a picture or two with my iPhone but I find that as good as some of the pictures can be, the way I see it in the moment is usually better than the picture I take.

You do such great work, and I’m always left with the feeling that the pictures you take are as you see them … that is really hard to do.

  2. @al-Ameda: I appreciate the comments, as always.

And your comment on beauty all around us is apt–these flowers were in an undeveloped piece of real estate at the entrance of my neighborhood.

Very nice! I do enjoy your Friday Photos.
Maybe I missed it, but have you ever included a note that if you click on the photo it takes you to flickr so you can see some camera settings?

  4. @dmhlt: Thanks. I have never included such a note, but perhaps I should.
