Last Crusade was wonderful. Easily my favorite. It has one of my favorite movie quotations, one that I use all the time…

“I wrote it down so I wouldn’t have to remember.”

Raiders of the Lost Ark, great?
Jones had no effect on the story! Without him the Nazi’s would have still found the Ark, taken it to the island, opened it and died.

IMO this movie was better even than Raiders. That said, it still just a good popcorn movie. To be fair, it doesn’t aspire to be more.

Best quote is: goose-stepping morons like yourself should try reading books instead of burning them (and alas all too relevant today).

I’ll repeat the winning formula for an Indiana Jones movie is nazi villains. The action and the adventure, and maybe even the central artifact, is all well and good, but the main thing is consistently beating the crap out of the nazis.

I saw bits and pieces of the fourth movie on TV. I don’t recall much about it, but it seemed to have as much action and adventure as all the others. It had no nazis to beat up. I haven’t bothered to see the fifth.
