Fascist Bros Have a Laugh

That's the vibe from Elon and Tucker.

I am old enough to remember when joking about assassinations was considered poor taste and the kind of thing that would potentially generate a Secret Service visit.

But these days it seems to be part of our politics.

This has the energy of a couple of 19-year-old college freshmen hangin’ with their bros and thinking that their jokes are just so very profound. And if you are offended it is because you just can’t take their edgy humorous insights into the way the world works, man.

On a darker level, puppet to whom? And the implication that Trump is important enough to assassinate but Democrats are easy to replace is grossly messianic.

This is like pornographic Twilight fanfic written by lonely 45 year olds turned into politics, featuring the richest man on earth. If you think this is edgy or funny, have I got some emo teen vampire sex for you.

Why shouldn’t this merit a Secret Service visit? This piece of filth has the means to accomplish his goal.

How many assassination attempts does Xlon have to his credit?

The Left barely complains when someone attempts it, or they blame the Right for it. Two right-wingers discuss the topic though and you’re overwhelmed with shock and sadness.

@Fortune: The phrase “The Left” is doing a lot of work here.

I’m pretty sure I saw dozens of comments here from the bloggers and regular commenters here on Trump’s first attempt saying, “I don’t want that”. Dozens.

I’ve seen a few people reference conspiracy theories about the assassinations, but mostly that has been avoided.

“Two right-wingers discuss the topic” ducks the issue. The issue is joking about assassinating Harris. Joking.

Finally, there is no way I would describe Stevens post as either “overwhelmed” or “shock” or even “sadness”. No, that’s anger. He is angry.

So. Every word you just wrong was wrong.

Why do you even come here with this garbage? Maybe in your head it is “true” in a mythological way that satisfies some need of yours. Maybe you would say this stuff even if you know it isn’t true. Maybe you do know it isn’t true.

What is it you’re fighting for? The right to demean Haitians? The right to make horrible jokes about gay or trans people? What is it?

Everyone knows that the right thing to do with pornographic Twilight fanfic is to change the settings, age up the characters, remove the literal vampirism and then sell it as 50 Shades of Gray, not turn it into politics.

I don’t think we have credible evidence that he has ever tried to assassinate anyone. The whole “it wouldn’t be worth it to assassinate Harris” thing is likely to assuage his own guilt for not trying to assassinate her.

    1. Who do you define of as “The Left”?
    2. Many people, myself included, have decried violence in our politics. This is the first line of my post about the first attempt: “Let me begin with clarity. Political violence is to be condemned and abhorred”. link.
    3. Yes, I blame Trump for the increased levels of violent rhetoric in our political discourse. Again, see the link for numerous examples. If you can compile a similar list for any other politician, please do so.
    4. I do not blame Trump for his being shot. Still, see #3.
    5. The clip shared is not of people “discussing” anything.
    6. I am not expressing shock or sadness. I am expressing disgust, contempt, and concern over nihilistic and fascistic rhetoric.

Why do you support and defend this?

I meant how many times has someone tried to kill him. perhaps he’s just not that important. Shotwell pretty much has replaced him in XpaceX already.

Fun Story: The founder of a company I worked at grew up around Tucker (the families were close, this guy came from big money). He always said things like “Tucker was probably the least racist person in that family” and “Given where he came from, Tucker really turned out well.”

No one could tell whether he was claiming his childhood friend wasn’t racist, or just that the rest of that family were amazingly racist. He had a dim-witted earnestness that made the first interpretation entirely possible.

And, unbeknownst to MAGA nation, these two assassination attempts were carried out by Republicans (or as Republicans might say, RINOs).

Maybe he has too high an opinion of himself.

For the rich, kidnapping is a greater concern than murder. Still, until he went full bat crap crazy, his greatest risk came from the MAGAts who hate electric cars.

Shoot dang, Gus. I had no idea you knew my family! Small world, isn’t it?

ETA, so, which one of my uncles was it? The one who proudly stated “if you ain’t a redneck, you ain’t s***,” or the one who shot himself putting his pistol back in his holster?
