Via the BBC:  Libya protests: Gaddafi says Bin Laden to blame

Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi has told state TV that Osama Bin Laden and his followers are to blame for the protests wracking his country.

In a phone call from the town of al-Zawiya played live on TV, Col Gaddafi said young people were being duped with drugs and alcohol to take part in “destruction and sabotage”.

These odd ramblings would be almost amusing if it were not for the death and injury being unleashed on the Libyan people.

  1. Gaddafi is a pretty good example of what happens when an obviously deranged person has political power

  2. You left out Nescafe. Some companies will do anything for a little publicity.

  3. I’ve done a little research, and there’s no real proof that Gaddafi is set to replace J Lo on American Idol. There was some thought that he would bring back more of a Paula Abdul vibe, but that’s not on the table. Until the 2012 season.

  4. I’m waiting for him to start blaming rock music. Would love to find a transcript but I guess the transcribers just roll their eyes, sigh, say “whatever”, turn off the tape and go out for coffee.

  5. Heck, I could blame Obama, Drugs and Alcohol for the uprisings here, in my state of Wisconsin, but I won’t…

Maybe he can replace J lo, I miss having an elitist guy who tells everyone that they are stupid.
