   I dunno, James. Consider this fragment of a poem by e e cummings:

   Anyone lived in a pretty how town
   With up so floating many bells down.

   Reminiscent of Yoda is it not? But e e cummings was not trying to duplicate German syntax; he was trying to duplicate the flexibility of Latin, or so I was taught.

   I always assumed Yoda was a kind of short, green, alien version of the British public school Latin teacher.
