Steven L. Taylor is a retired Professor of Political Science and former College of Arts and Sciences Dean. His main areas of expertise include parties, elections, and the institutional design of democracies. His most recent book is the co-authored
A Different Democracy: American Government in a 31-Country Perspective. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas and his BA from the University of California, Irvine. He has been blogging since 2003 (originally at the now defunct Poliblog).

In his letter of resignation, L. Lin Wood said he wanted to “focus on Jesus Christ.”

It could, but my first thought was that he was trying to prove how virtuous he is.
@CSK: I’m not inclined to think that evangelicals believe in virtue for virtue’s sake. I’ll be surprised if he simply starts living a quiet and meditative life out of the public eye.

@CSK: Recall that before he became part of Team Kraken Wood’s law partners were convinced he had lost his mind and was destroying the firm. Like Trump, Wood appears to be a functional sociopath.
