   Substance found in van after Houston ICE shooting wasn’t drugs, DA and U.S. Rep. Sylvia Garcia say

   The “crystal-like substance” the FBI found inside the van of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo — the 52-year-old who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Houston earlier this month — was not an illicit drug, according to U.S. Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Houston, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and a lawyer representing Salgado Araujo’s brother.

   “We can now confirm that the substance found in Lorenzo Salgado’s van was not a narcotic or any other illicit substance,” Garcia said on social media, without revealing the source of the information. “As his family has said all along, this was an electrolyte powder to stay hydrated working outside in the hot Texas summer. The attempt to cast a shadow over Lorenzo Salgado’s name has failed.”

   Steven Miller says that God makes good people pretty. I assume he numbers himself among the attractive good people, but FFS, the guy looks like the count in Nosferatu.

   The MAGAs are describing Trump’s WHCA dinner speech as “pearls before swine.”

   I think of it more as “a swine before pearls.”

   About a year and some weeks after I cancelled Audible and signed up to Libro.fm, I finally paid for membership in the latter. It took that long to run out most of the Audible books I’d accumulated over the years (there are like ten or so left still).
