The irony of the SAVE act is it would screw with my partner’s registration, but not mine. I updated my birth certificate after my name change, my partner did not when she took my last name.
@Beth: Yes, from what I read the SAVE Act may cause problems for women with a name differing from their birth certificate, by taking a married name or otherwise. If it really goes through like that, it would be targeting women, by far the largest majority D voting demographic. An unintended /s consequence.
What a swell guy Greg Bovino must be! Imagine getting ejected from a Vegas strip club.
I do NOT understand this “updating of a birth certificate” stuff. My name on my birth certificate is the name I had at birth. Jennifer [Middle Name] [Last Name of my married parents]. WTAF am I supposed to update that to? I was not Jennifer [Middle Name] [Husband’s Last Name] when I was born. I have a State Department birth certificate issued from a local hospital located in the Southeast Asian nation in which I was born. I haven’t the foggiest notion how I would go about updating that.
My understanding is that it is women who lack a current passport with their married name who are the ones who will have the real problem, as a passport is sufficient to establish nationality.
In which case, a whole lot of MAGA/tradwifes are going to have a problem, which means this will all magically go away.
@CSK:
Trying to tip the dancers with Reichsmarks will get you chucked from most strip clubs, I imagine.
