As for the issue of the French, I have blogged on that before… In early July, the Conservative Observer was kind enough to feature one of those pertinent entries (in two consecutive entries of his).
The French are not our enemies, and they have not opposed “us.” As all conservatives should agree, our government is very much not the same as our country or our people.
During the Clinton administration, one the key conservative, pro-liberty principles was that we must love our country, but that does not mean that we love our government as well, or support the actions of it. The same should be true regardless of who is in office.
(Whether a liberal Democrat or a liberal Republican occupies the White House should not matter, with regard to this… 😉
