    Since I went there, this one hits close to home:

    University of Iowa Students will now be required to take classes from the new Center for Intellectual Freedom in order to graduate.

    Republican lawmakers created the center last year to push back against what they considered liberal indoctrination on Iowa college campuses. This year, Republican lawmakers tacked on a requirement for students to take courses from the center as part of a massive budget bill passed during a marathon 35-hour session just before the legislature adjourned.

    Nothing says “intellectual freedom” like forcing students to take mandatory classes on the ruling party’s ideology.

    Meanwhile, acceptance of same-sex marriage is declining, almost exclusively due to a collapse in support among Republicans.

    Unfortunately, propaganda works.
