Doing some work on the backend yesterday, I discovered that today marks five years since the passing of our longtime co-blogger, Doug Mataconis, was announced on his Facebook page. There never was an official obituary.

He’s definitely been missed.

Five years. Seems so long ago. Shocking to me that Doug was only 53. Miss him and his writings.

Doug was one of the few bloggers who was able to take criticism in stride, and whose voice was always thoughtful and considered.
He is missed.

Edgy analysis, honesty, and brave–each day that he shared with us was, in retrospect, possibly a victory for him. Grateful for his never forgotten presence in this virtual community.
