250,000

SiteMeter hit the 250,000 visitors mark (389,839 page views) as I was typing the previous post. Indeed, it was exactly at 250,000 when I checked.

SCSUScholars sent the visitor and, coming at 8:40, Kate‘s calculation that it would come “Saturday – between 8 and 9 am” was the correct one. She therefore wins the SiteMeter Pool.

  1. HOORAY FOR KATE!!!

Cograts James, when will the bet for 500K be?

  2. Congrats! It’s a long way from being jazzed by 100 hits in a day, eh?

  3. Yay for me!

And I broke my first quarter thousand yesterday.

  4. Thanks, all.

Tom: Dunno. I’ll wait until I’ve got at least 450,000. Unless traffic picks up significantly, it’ll likely be some time in late August.

Steven: Indeed! It took exactly a month from installing the counter to notching the first 1000 visitors; I now get more than that on an average day.

Kate: Congrats. I suspect you’ve gotten more than that given the linkage. But with the counter only on the main page, you’re not counting a lot of the hits.

I added the counters to the other pages yesterday. It probably has something to do with the rise in traffic, but then too, a few new people had linked to my stuff. Vodkapundit, for one.

On a different topic, though… you wouldn’t believe some of the search terms that are showing up on my activity log. Yikes. I didn’t know that crossover between necrophilia and bestiality existed anywhere outside the Tom Green Show.

  6. Congrats, Kate! I always was too optimistic (and I shall go buy some lottery tickets now…)
