After a few comments on my “Trump Truths Tied-Up Truck Taunt,” I went down a bit of a rabbit hole of the sheer number of these sort of decals available on Amazon. It’s simply astounding.

They range from the weird to the bizarre:

The one that misspells his name and the one that hasn’t gotten the word on the current state of the Trump-Pence relationship amuse me in particular. And I don’t know what to make of the Ricky Bobby allusion; Trump didn’t finish first last go-round.

It’s noteworthy that there really aren’t any pro-Biden ones. And the only anti-Trump one is certainly less vulgar than so many of the anti-Biden ones:

I don’t think either of these are commentaries on the election, but I suspect the target audiences are the same:

I’m a veteran but wouldn’t put that on my truck, if I still drove one.

    I kind of appreciate “In this car we love Trump because he pisses off all the people we can’t stand” for its level of self recognition.

    That said do truck people get upset if you call their truck a car? It feels akin to auto misgendering.

    The one in the top row on the right. Not the Jesus one. That’s the only one that seems kinda normal. Like, it’s kinda positive and looks decent. Still really dorky, but not too bad.

    Is it just me, or does the top left look a bit like Keanu Reeves cast as JC?

    ETA, my late grandmother used to say, “Jesus H. Nixon CHRIST!” when she was completely disgusted with someone (usually a politician). I can hear her cackling and saying this while clutching her Oly viewing these.

    Yup. It’s the “action movie lighting/dramatic walk towards the camera with wind blowing his hair and a dash of homoeroticism but he can still kick ass” version of Jesus that is all the rage in the White Evangelical movement since at least the Left Behind books of not before.

    I’m surprised no one has yet commented on the irony of the last one. @mattbernius: Right wing “art” is almost always sprinkled with homoeroticism. c.f. the stylized male figures of Nazi propaganda posters in the 30’s to the infamous volleyball scene in Top Gun (or hell…the entire movie according to some critiques), to the current AI images of a muscled up and oiled trump.

    Logically, a person with a taste for vulgarity and camp is not without taste. Literally, theya re. Which explains why they vote Lardass.

    BTW, If I saw many trucks with stickers like those, I’d make small blue stickers with white letters that read “ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE,” and palce them on all I found.

    Most are the same picture, just with the different decals photoshopped onto the tailgate. Check out the drip pattern underneath the truck, it’s the same in all of them.

    That last one makes me think of the astroterf* LGBWithoutTheT stuff that was going around a few months ago. (It may still be going around, I may have simply honed my social media intake, as one does periodically to remove nazis and fellow travelers)

    Liberty, Guns and Beer isn’t so bad. Just drop the Trump.

    @Mikey: I really wish Amazon would crack down on vendors doing that. Same with “this product comes in 5 colors that we photoshopped onto the same picture”.

    Show an actual product, or F off.

    Anyway, because the barrier to putting something on Amazon is so low, this collection doesn’t really show anything about even whether someone believes in these as a legitimate product let alone whether anyone buys them.

    Probably someone just scavenging the internet for memes (even easier than using ChatGPT) to slap into a template, and probably then routing orders to another company to print and ship on demand. All part of “hustle culture” crap.

    Clearly private citizen Trump does not do enough to profess his agony. He should volunteer to be nailed to a cross, stabbed in the side with a pike and when he expires have his carcass thrown into a tomb so we can all wait to see what happens.

    Looking at the Amazon listing, it seems no one is buying these and they look like they’re probably made when ordered.

    I can’t think of the last time I saw a full vinyl decal on a tailgate that wasn’t a construction contractor’s phone number and website; it’s hard for me to believe there’s much market for this.

    Also can we talk about the Talladega Nights quote? A big part of Ricky Bobby’s arc is hearing from his dad that the “If you’re not first, you’re last” mantra was BS and partially responsible for him becoming such an egotistical racer. How on earth some people deliberately ignore that glaringly obvious part of the story is beyond me.

    There are two horses in this 2024 race. Forget about the polls, this is about the perceived performance in office, er basement. Is there a practical way to judge which horse will finish?
    So far, Trump, despite the TDS in many minds, appears to have the edge for this measure. Biden may not even run. That is fortunate for the citizens, since they are tired of seeing the puppet dance to the strings of shadowy figures that look like Obama, and cringe to his gaffes. So Biden isn’t his own man, which makes it hard to place blame where it is deserved. And blame there is!

    At the eleventh hour, someone, probably Gavin Newsom, will be shoved into the race, and he is exceedingly well-versed in running a country into the ground, you know, California. Put lipstick on that, er sow!

    This citizen sees it thus:

    A nearly 40 Trillion dollar national debt real soon now, thanks to truly profligate spending the past three years, and one year to go, a debt that we are not addressing adequately at all. Has anyone seen the budget lately?

    Shameful advances in Wokism, trans, CRT, PC, Cancel Culture, correct Trans pronouns demanded,
    schools captive to the progressive ideology and producing ignoramuses, and strong-arming our kids to go trans without parents being involved, funny-digital-money being instituted, a two-tier justice system, conservatives being labeled terrorists, in short, just about every phase of life in America under attack by the left.

    An invasion from the South and the world across our southern border that has brought well over 6 million illegal aliens into the country, and immediately bussed by the government to sanctuary cities and elsewhere. One report stated that over 35,000 Chinese nationals of military age have come into the country this way. Think about that! Uncontrolled immigration by this administration is dastardly, and unforgivable. The very thought of the vast sums of money from our taxes that will be spent to accommodate these illegals is extremely galling.

    Then there is the attack on our Christianity. The Christian population sees the growth of atheistic ideology, and “Human Rights” (read Socialism) as a direct threat to their very existence. We do not want an atheistic, Marxist nation, and to enact socialism is one very slippery slide into communism, no matter how brilliant you think you are to hold the line.

    As a long-term gun-owner, I deeply resent anyone threatening to take them away from me, for what turns out to be no good reason. I am 93, live alone and need protection from intruders. The police are many minutes away from my home. Why disarm me, or any of 80 million other gun-owners? You want us to be helpless? Why?

    I also note that there is a purge of good fighting men from our military because they will not bow to authorities insisting they accept Wokism. Our forces are seriously weakened by the exit of many good men and officers. They will be missed!

    If we turn to the two hot spots in the world, the Ukraine and Taiwan, we are vacillating in and out of rationality. It is a serious lack of leadership at the top of government. We need to see that the Ukraine wins with NATO increasingly helping them, and we need to convince China, really Xi, that they would lose very badly if they attacked Taiwan.

    Of course, direct definance of the Supreme Court by the administration is a truly exemplary act that shows the contempt of our Constitution and the rule of law by Biden and Company and the left.

    The Left has a head of steam up over CO2 and global warming. It is a catastrophe trying to happen! Good science has shown that CO2 is not the main cause of the limited warming we can expect. Again, the administration is dumping enormous taxpayer sums into prevention of the wrong cause! It is a purely political project from beginning to end now. Woe the taxpayer!

    To top this off, this administration is trying to force consumers to buy EVs, a sure way to waste money.
    While the EVs may be great, the need for additional energy generation, transmission capability, and feeder stations is prohibitively costly and environmentally bad.

    Progressives seem to be quite satisfied with how things are going, and show it at every turn with smug and haughty displays, as they run the nation down and down in every nook and cranny they can find. One would think that rational people would not adopt these silly adventures for the nation. All of this is something to shed many tears over. I grieve for the American Way of yore. MAGA!

    Apparently your Christianity does not believe that God is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent. For if God is all powerful, all knowing and everywhere at once nothing any mere mortal would do could be a threat to your faith.

    What a laugh you clowns give me! First, I must BE a terrorist and a conservative! Obviously, wr you do not know the difference, and that is very sad. Then you comment on my gun remark with nonsense. Any cause to take my guns would come from external sources driven by the current madness going around in leftist circles, like DEI, and WOKE, and orders to do it from the leftists. They have NO CAUSE from me to do it!

    Then I hear from Mister Bluster an inane set of remarks on my statement that Christianity being the object of attacks, which is very real. When an entire set of ministers has become afraid to speak their mind on the current situation because of intimidation from the DEI crowd or cult (a better term), there is something very wrong in this nation. The PC and strongarm squad is real and that is a great sorrow. Did either of you go to school? OH! Bad question! Did you learn anything in school?

    You have no Christianity, and actual Christians reject you.

    Actual Christians follow the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, who taught that:
    1. You have no standing to worry about other people’s sin.
    2. You are commanded to love others as you love yourself, and to treat them ALL as you would prefer to be treated.
    3. Your relationship with God has nothing to do with politics or government.
    4. God does not favor the strong; he favors the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden. Which does not include white men in America, if you hadn’t noticed.

    Trump preaches the opposite of Christianity, and his followers are not Christians. If you want to follow Trump, go for it, but don’t smear Christianity in the process.

    I’ve heard from my Trump-voting family members that it’s going to be Michelle Obama who will be asked to take Biden’s place.

    To be fair , it’s pretty clear that MAGA Republicans are dragging this country into Trump’s cesspool.
