Christine O’Donnell is out with the second ad of the General Election campaign and this one is as odd as the first.
We’ve still got the weird bluish/floating cloud background with the black dress, so it’s pretty clear this was filmed on the same day as the “I’m Not A Witch” ad. There’s a lot that could be said about this ad, such as the subtle dig at intellectualism by pointing out she didn’t go to an Ivy League college or the way she tries to equate her own bizarre financial problems to the economic problems of average Delawareans. What stand out to me, though, is that the “I’m You” tag line. It really does strike me as the strangest political slogan I’ve ever heard.
Given the fact that O’Donnell clearly isn’t going to win this race, these ads aren’t really newsworthy. Like a multi-car accident on the side of the road, though, one cannot help but look.
