D.C. Ranked 6th Most Unattractive City
They’re not talking about the buildings, but the people:
This hotbed of culture (No. 2) apparently doesn’t attract the hotties—unless you count lobbyists and policy wonks as hot. But hey, it has moved up from the bottom five of this list, where it sat last year. Our nation’s capital also ranks near the bottom for wild weekends and romantic getaways.
Frankly, I don’t know what they’re talking about. We’ve got Dennis Kucinich and Barbara Milkulski after all.
The old joke was that Washington was Hollywood for ugly people.
I think this may define Washington, DC too narrowly. IIRC Alexandria has quite a number of attractive young people.
Median age for the House is 56 and for the Senate 62. Youth and beauty are pretty closely correlated so don’t expect our elected representatives to be beautiful. They’re rich and powerful. Isn’t that enough?
I guess this depends on what you define as “hotties.” If they define it as the Hollywood catalog of fake bodies and uber made up faces, yeah, DC doesn’t have that. What DC has are lots of very smart and attractive (as an natural, not made up) people of all races who value intellectual ability over the artificial facade.
Well, DC is the root of the world’s greatest evil, the bureaucracy. And being evil even without intent makes the loveliest of people ugly. So it is quite understandable that DC would not only rank as unattractive but that the mix of young idealists whose evil isn’t etched on their faces yet with those who’ve worked so long in the great evil that they are models for evil in the movies.
Question is, if DC wasn’t so ugly would they steal less of our money since they’d have less to make up for?
