Actually, you couldn’t be more wrong. IDPA shooting competitions limit you to 10 rounds specifically because having more weight to the gun makes it easier to handle the recoil and consistently hit the same spot.
Likewise, hunters don’t use large amounts of ammo when they shoot because it’s illegal. It has nothing to do with aiming. Hunters would gladly use high-capacity magazines if they were allowed to use more than 5 rounds.
Finally, you don’t hunt anything with a “nine.” You definitely don’t hunt deer with anything that small. Some have been known to hunt deer with .357 magnum and larger revolvers, but anything smaller is pretty much out.
The people here can rationalize all they want. What it basically boils down to is that people have fun shooting high-capacity magazines. Stopping to reload is annoying when you’re at the range. That’s it. It isn’t necessarily a good reson, but it’s the honest reason.
As far as banning large magazines and the benifit of doing so, I can just as easily legally carry multiple guns. Carrying multiple firearms will easily increase your shooting capability far beyond what any individual high-capacity magazine could. This argument is moot.
