Slate’s Paul Boutin says Mazda’s RX-8 is the sports car for nerds. This will come as news to the car’s biggest backer, I’m sure.

    Yeah, but can the RX-8 destroy tulip beds and small shrubbery with nary a scratch?

    WOW! That is a hell of an engine…..

    84cid and 247hp…

    MAN I want one in my hovercraft…. But considering it does 43mph now with no brakes, I think I’ll stick with what I got.

    Wait for that engine to be used in small aircraft and hovers soon.

    I sat in the back seat of an RX-8 this week as a friend took it for a test drive. The lack of money is the only reason I don’t have that toy now. It is one sweet car.
