- Via CNN: Romney stands by Trump criticism but says MAGA is now the Republican Party.
- Via The Hill: Gabbard struggles to woo senators ahead of confirmation fight.
- Via the Tampa Bay Times: Florida workers died in the heat. Their deaths were kept from authorities. But, you know, the GOP is now the party of the working class (/s). A reminder: “Florida banned local governments from providing increased oversight for workers exposed to high temperatures earlier this year, saying businesses and federal regulators alone could keep laborers safe.” See, also, DeSantis Signs Law Banning Water Breaks and Cooling Measures from Florida Workers.
- Same song, different verse via The Atlantic: Trump Is About to Betray His Rural Supporters.
- Along the lines of recent conversations, via the NYT: Six Childhood Scourges We’ve Forgotten About, Thanks to Vaccines.
- Via JVL I share this mostly for the sad accuracy of the headline and sub-head: The New Age of Trump: Protection Money and FU You Money.
- Via the BBC: Brazil’s Lula says he’s well after brain bleed surgery.
- Via PBS: Daniel Penny will join Trump’s suite at football game after being acquitted in NYC chokehold case. Without getting into the specifics of the Penny case, I find the ongoing glorification of vigilante violence by the GOP to be quite troublesome. See, also, Rittenhouse, Kyle.

Good old reliable Mitt. Still trying to have everything both ways, or every way.
Re childhood diseases. One wonders if RFK Jr. and his buddies are numerate enough to understand these graphics.
@gVOR10:
And once again, his supporters will describe themselves as pro-life.
My late grandmother (the one who’d contracted polio while a pregnant 17-year-old) would’ve beaten RFJ jr with her crutches until he resembled a spot on the floor.
Mitt? You mean Ol’Spineless?
Betray? Inconceivable! /s/
Mitt’s comments pretty much advertise that he truly has no spine. His one shining moment was voting for the first impeachment, it almost sounded like something a man of integrity would say. I guess that version of Mitt was put back in the attic.
I found this amusing, re Tulsi Gabbard:
Trash talking House members by Senate person. Whooda thunk?
