The folks who gave us “So You Want to be a Lawyer?” follows up with “So You Want to Get a PhD in the Humanities?”

My PhD is in the social sciences, not the humanities, but the same objections apply. I don’t regret my investment of time and energy, even though I wound up off the traditional academic path. Then again, I managed to get out of grad school without a dime’s worth of debt.
