I know that it is exceedingly difficult to focus on the cavalcade of damaging nonsense that is pouring forth from this administration, but it should matter more than it does that the President of the United States’ personal social media feed, which he uses to make official pronouncements, is full of AI-generated propaganda/items clearly intended to boost his ego.
For example, the following was posted on Trump’s Truth Social feed:
It seems worth noting that quite a few presidents are missing, including Reagan, both Bushes, JFK, LBJ, Eisenhower, and Truman. I guess as long as he is on the top, and Biden and Obama are at the bottom, the rest kind of doesn’t matter.
But sure, it is perfectly healthy to have the sitting president spewing out this nonsense.
And just for fun, Wilson is listed as “Great” above, but a few posts later, Trump had this graphic. At least Reagan is back, and Biden and Obama are at the bottom! Still, I don’t think Natalie is exhibiting sufficient quality control on the feed.
While we are at it, I’m sure there is nothing alarming about the use of a font associated with the Nazi regime, especially on a graphic suggesting staying in power unconstitutionally! Just coincidence, I’m sure.
As a general matter, his Truth Social feed is a bizarre mix of AI-generated ego boosts, declarations of victories for Trump-endorsed candidates, news of renovation projects, and rantings about public policy that I guess we are supposed to take seriously because we have to.
None of it is the reflection of an orderly and healthy mind.
And just to put the corrupt cherry on the sundae, as I often like to note: he makes money off of the feed, which is one of the ways he is monetizing the office of the presidency.
