From his Ohio rally:

Trump: "We're gonna win big, and we've gonna shove it up their ass"

It made me think of this bit from Letterman:

And then there was this:

Trump: "When I see that Talafreako in Texas. So he's been a vaygan all his life. He's a vaygan vaygan, I didn't even know what the hell a veygan was. A veygan is vegetables. A vaygan is eating a piece of lettuce all day long."

I mean, I guess “vegan” is hard to pronounce…

But, of course, none of this is ultimately funny save in the “laugh lest ye cry” kind of way.

I suppose the good news is that none of this is going to motivate voters who have already decided they don’t approve of him. And if you are a voter who finds all of this awesome or, at least, acceptable, you are already in his camp.

Here’s more from a simpler time:

  1. This is the kind of stuff for which his supporters really voted. They hoped he might do something about illegal immigration and harm the trans folks but they knew the would make fun of the people they dont like in pretty harsh terms.

I think it’s a way to get his audience thinking he’s calling Talarico “gay” as well.

  3. His audience may think “gay” and “vegan” are synonyms.

    1. Ve-gay-n would have gone over their heads.

It’s giving “no one knows dumb has a b in it” vibes.

I don’t recommend eating his brain as he might have some sort of prion disease.

      1. Be a starvation diet in the first place, lol.

  4. What an a**hole he is.

    1. I run out of words to describe Trump. He’s beyond loathsome.

  5. By all accounts, various presidents (eg Truman, Eisenhower, Johnson, and in particular Nixon) were capable of ear-scouring profanity in private.
Similar applies to various British and European leaders.
Prince Philip, being ex-navy, had a bit of a rep for private sweariness, if peeved.
However, they all had the basic sense of decorum and dignity owing to their office not to indulge their inner teenager in public speech.

I wonder which current Western leader, if let off the chain, could likely swear Trump into a frazzle?
    Burnham, being a Scouser, perhaps.
    Zelensky, quite possibly.
    Any given Aussie, obviously.
But my final bet would be on Meloni.
She is Italian, after all. 😉
And has a reputation for not suffering fools gladly.

  6. There’s a joke about Truman where he visits a farm. He asks about what manure is used, when the manure it’s spread, when is the manure collected, etc. He uses the word manure a lot.

Someone in his entourage tells Mrs. Truman perhaps she could get her husband to say fertilizer instead.

“Oh, dear,” Mrs. Truman replies. “If you knew how hard it was to get him to say manure.”
