Via Bloomberg: Tissue Paper-for-Venezuelan Oil Swap Offered by Trinidad.

The absurd nature of the headline aside, this is not a funny story at all given the utter disaster that is the Venezuelan economy. The unnecessary and man-made nature of the the situation just adds to the tragedy.

I like to think this remains uncommented on not because no one cares, but because there’s nothing witty enough to beat reality in this case.

I sometimes feel like a poorly-written character in a Chris Buckley novel with this sort of stuff happening.
