At the end of March, Florida’s pension fund held more than 682,000 shares of AB InBev valued at the time at nearly $46 million. The company’s stock price has fallen since then from $66 a share to $58, though it’s still higher than its 52-week low of $44 from September 2022, which was well before the company’s recent controversies.

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” Biden said in a statement. It was his first acknowledgement of the child.

“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter,” he said. “Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”

Guess which lion of the Senate said it.

I wonder how many different explanations one of his GAs tried to explain the concept of all-time record to Coach. I’m guessing “unprecedented” was too much for Tuberville.

Reminds me of Dr. Hibbert explaining CABG to Homer.

I feel sorry for Anheuser-Busch/InBev. I’ve ordered a Bud Light occasionally when being sociable and I’m driving. It’s near tasteless, but what you gonna do? But as best I can figure out the story, they did essentially nothing to offend anyone. They’re a random victim of the RW outrage machine. I guess better an international corporate giant than a pair of Black election workers.

(I complain about spell check. But it’s changing a/an appropriately when I edit the following word. Never noticed that before.)

They’ve been going with the “it’s summer” since the mid-2000s at least.

You’d think by now they’d replace it with “temperature records don’t go back that far. for all we know, it has way hotter in the 1500s.”

I’m, just going to repeat what I said yesterday at BJ:

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” Biden said in a statement that was first reported by People magazine.

“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter,” he said. “Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”

    But of course…

The president, who has made a commitment to family central to his public persona, has faced increasing criticism from political rivals and pundits for failing to acknowledge the granddaughter.

For starters, that head line really gripes me. They should know better. My wife and I went thru a situation where my eldest son and his ex spent a considerable amount of time (2 years or so) in a very contentious court fight over their daughter. I won’t go into details but I will say it was a really tough time. My wife and I were afraid to say or do anything, knowing how fragile the situation was, knowing how easily one can say the wrong thing, upsetting the applecart and putting them back to square one. Or worse.

Each and every one of those critics need to STFU instead of trying to score points on the back of a little girl.

    @gVOR08: I feel sorry for Anheuser-Busch/InBev.

There is a part of me that doesn’t feel sorry for them. They buckled.

What they should have done is given all the RW perverts the finger and just continued on. Even if they lost a bunch from the rw nutjobs fleeing their brand (sunk cost, they were already gone) they would have gained (not as much, most folks I know like real beer, not that sex on a beach BL is) some support among the woke. As is, both* sides want nothing to do with them.

*there is always the folks in the middle, those who don’t pay any attention and couldn’t give a rat’s ass either way.

Oh, noes, the right wing governor helped spearhead an anti-woke boycott of a company his state has invested pension funds in! And now the stock price is down?

Go anti-woke, go broke I guess.

Do the leopards ever get full?

@Gustopher: No. Neither does my schadenfreude meter.
