As noted in my post announcing the launch of the current theme, the plugin we’ve used for years to create an @username linked to the post to which you’re responding was incompatible with the theme. The good news is that Zohair suggested a modern plugin that achieves a similar functionality and, after testing it out for a few days, I’ve decided it’s a good enough solution.

It is, alas, not quite as easy as the old version. The Reply function is served by the theme itself, but only goes as far as the nesting (which I’ve adjusted to 4 deep). If you want to have an @, you have to manually type in the @ symbol and start typing the user’s name. It should auto-suggest names of registered users for you to choose.

So far, this has worked quite well for me on the laptop, but not on my iPhone or iPad.
