This is just so juvenile.
To which I would say: good thing he won the war against woke and pronouns. He needs the “W” because we are getting a big fat “L” in Iran.
But, you know, priorities!

@Daryl:
Who has ever said shit like this? An Army of One???
Umm… The US Army did starting at the turn of the century. It was a recruitment slogan used in all sorts of advertising. According to Google, it came right after “Be all you can be”.
@Mu Yixiao:
I take it back. They’re geniuses. What was I thinking?
@Daryl:
I understand that you’re trying to make a point through sarcasm, but… you asked a specific question. And there is a specific, factual, historic answer.
“An army of one” was–for several years–heavily promoted by the US Army for at least a couple years in every sort of marketing.
I don’t know how Hegseth used it (I refuse to listen to anything he says). And I have no clue what your “they’re geniuses” comment is supposed to imply.
But “Who has ever said shit like this?”–in regards to the phrase “an army of one”–is “The US Army”. They used it for about 5 years. This would have been under Bush 2.
Blast Hegseth for the whole he/she/they BS–rightfully so–but step back from your partisan anger and look at factual history.
Be strategic in your anger, and focus on how we can effect change.
It’s actually “send me.”
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Isaiah 6:8
This is a verse commonly quoted among special operations forces, which Secretary of DEFENSE Hegseth would never have gotten within sniffing distance of, because he’s a fucking loser.
@Kathy: That would be a ref for Ancient Geeks.
@Steven L. Taylor: Hegseth does remind me a little of Kalibak.
