Corey Lewandowski really is the ultimate bottom feeder, isn’t he?
This is the first time in maybe the past 50-70 years that the Democratic Party should hold firm and just let the GOP try to paint them as anti-military for not supporting their adventure in the Iran/the Gulf Nations / Middle East, as the Iran War was so badly conceived and in many ways not prosecuted all that great (despite the unholy amount of death and destruction we are raining down on Iranians all we have to show for it are higher gas and energy prices and an even more motivated then ever before Iran to get the Bomb and be able to use it fend off future attacks) that I think attempts to paint Democrats into a corner on the Iran War will backfire in a rather public way.
It is very telling that part of the horse trading that the GOP feels they would have to do with the Democratic Party to get Hegseth 200 Billion more in U.S. Taxpayer cash is to offer them more aid for farmers and the Ukranian fight to fend off Russia’s attack.
Especially after Hegseth once again expressed how pissed he is that Biden offered so much support to Ukraine against Russia, and if we had not supported Ukraine then the Iran War would be going so much better than it is now. I feel that Hegseth may not regret saying that part out loud today, but perhaps a few months from now as we get closer to the election someone on my side of the fence might just be savvy enough to turn his words into a weapon to use against the GOP.
The above was my long way of saying that while the GOP has been frustratingly successful in the past in getting Democrats to regret statements they made in public that Americans could very much perceive as being anti-military, I really do not feel that this dog is going to hunt this time around. Things are different this time around and I suspect many members of the GOP feel the same.
@inhumans99:
Ukraine pretty regularly releases video of an attack drone hunting down a Russian soldier and as the drone closes you see the panicked look of the trooper before he dies. When the felon puts boots on the ground in Iran, that’ll be an American who we’ll watch die. Shit, meet fan.
