  1. Will any of the macho bible thumpers acknowledge Christa Pike was saved by God?

  2. I cancelled my Audible subscription today for the second time. it felt better than the last time.

This one was a trial subscription. One credit and one month of Audible for the munificent sum of $0.00 Cancel Any Time.

Last time, I began to get emails telling me what I was missing, and suggestions that perhaps I’d enjoy a cheaper subscription. then they started offering discounts for the premium subscription. This was followed by an offer to subscribe for three months to get a $20 store credit. And finally a free trial subscription for one month.

I’ll take the free subscription again ay time it’s offered.

Meantime, it’s back to Everand and Libro.FM

One thing I like about the latter is they don’t remove books from their catalog, allegedly. But even if the do, you can download the unlocked audio files for all your books, and play them in any number of other apps not tied to Libro. So you do effectively own the books and not just the right to listen to them.

    On which more later.

  3. Trump may have “fake news,” but I have a fake leg!

So there, you fat, vulgar, stupid pig.

    1. Hope you were able to put a nice design on your socket. Mine has blue oxford cloth under handmade wedding lace and resined over. I am below the knee, so I have a lot of socket to work with.

      1. Nah, I’m strictly a utilitarian gal. Just the plain old prosthesis will do me fine.

        I’m below the knee, too.

        1. My father once had his prosthetic caught in the assembly line tracks at Longbridge and was proceeding away, and was asked:
“Hey Jack, do you want wing mirrors on this?”
          His reply:
“No, now sod off and stop the bloody track and get me my leg back so I can kick your arse.”

  4. They will apparently be live-streaming the execution of the Fort Hood shooter. Very Taliban-adjacent, if you ask me.

    1. There was a reason why most countries stopped public executions.
That the US seems inclined to reverse this might be cause for reflection on the part of those who think it’s a good idea.
But then, I suspect the entire basis of not pandering to the cruel and voyeuristic would likely likely escape them.

    2. There are no good theocracies.

      1. I may be able to create a case for a theocracy of benevolent hedonism. 😉
        But that’s just me.
For I am an awkward and contradictory sod by nature and inclination.
