On Tuesday, Vance evaded the question about whether Trump won in 2020 or not. Perhaps he was taken to the woodshed by the boss because Thursday morning he said that Trump won.

Here’s the video.

Again, one need only read through the latest Jack Smith papers to see the sworn testimony* (from people within the Trump campaign of 2020) to see that everyone knew they lost the election. To the degree that even people within and around the campaign were referring to the “alternate” electors as “fake electors.”
But if that isn’t enough for some folks, here’s a break down of all the major times the Trump campaign lost in court: https://campaignegal.org/results-lawsuits-regarding-2020-elections
This all leads to the bullshit excuse of “in the end, there was a peaceful transition of power.”
Of course, if any Trump supporter wants to find any equivalent actions by a Democrat or any previous Republican president or presidential candidate, have at it.
* – BTW, I realize that some of our readers will hand wave away that filling. Just a reminder that everything that the most recent Smith filling contained was again, sworn testimony given in front of a Grand Jury under threat of perjury.
Nine years in prison for supporting Donald Trump’s election lies
“You betrayed your oath of office for nobody but you.”
In response to this, of course the judge has received death threats from the party that asserts obediance to the “rule of law”.
The MAGA notion that there’s a class of people called “criminals” that a white person cannot join –no matter how many crimes a person commits– infuriates me.
@Gavin: it isn’t race or party id, it is ideology. Conservatives are not used to facing the same legal consequences for the same political/legal acts.
So because JD Vance didn’t lie at the debate exactly the way his daddy Trump taught him to, JD got a spanking and is now out licking the fascist boot properly, like an obedient little beta.
Anyone still confused about whether JD Vance lacks character? About his total weakness and capitulation? About whether it’s actually lying when he lies?
Imagine having a worse case of low T than Mike Pence. Futon Boy is who we thought he was. Another DeSantis: underwhelming, unlikeable, unfit.
Please note that the discussion shouldn’t be about Vance’s (lack of) character.
Vance’s statement means that J6 was justified and that the next GOP administration will have to do everything in its power to ensure that the Dems won’t succeed in “stealing” another election.
In other words, Vance’s statement is a promise that, once the GOP gains power, it will do everything – legal or illegal – to keep it. Thus, it is also a promise that voters’ actual preferences won’t matter any longer.
There is no other way to interpret his words.
@DK: I remain convinced that Pence did the right thing because he didn’t have the backbone to do the wrong thing (and be the center of attention doing the wrong thing). Not conscience, but cowardice. He called everyone he knew trying to get someone to justify doing the wrong thing, and no one backed him up. Dan Fucking Quayle said he couldn’t toss out electors.
I don’t think Vance would hesitate.
Weak people are less dangerous. Trump will die of old age, or a rabid squirrel bite, or Ebola or whatever. The weak people following him will just fold.
Vance is far worse.
Vance is far worse.
True. No argument there. Different path same destination as far as that goes.
