Alabama’s Ludwig Von Mises Institute

Yesterday’s WSJ has an interesting piece on how the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a leading free market economic think tank, happened to be founded in Auburn, Alabama nearly a quarter century ago. Interestingly, although I moved to the state a couple years before the Institute was founded, received a high school diploma and three university degrees there, and even taught college there, I didn’t realize that it was there.

Then again, it is Auburn.

One response to “Alabama’s Ludwig Von Mises Institute”

  1. The sad truth, though, is that the Ludwig von Mises Institute has been in the hands of so-called “paleo-libertarians” like Lew Rockwell for some time now and is beginning to bare little resemblence to what Mises actually believed.
