Meanwhile in North Korea…

...love is in the air.

While down the list of items of importance this week, this odd statement right in front of our noses seemed worth putting on the list:

Acting AG Todd Blanche: “I love working for President Trump. It’s the greatest honor of a lifetime. And if President Trump chooses to nominate somebody else and asks me to go do something else, I’ll say, ‘Thank you very much, I love you, sir.'”

Just in case people have become inured to this kind of thing, it is not normal for federal officials to proclaim their love for the president, especially in the context of wanting a promotion.

This is petty personalistic dictator stuff.

This is petty personalistic dictator stuff.

It has a name – personalized rule. Joe Stalin comes to mind as a notable example.

His right to persecute his enemies? His duty to weaponize Justice?
Remember too, this is the a-hole who got a child molester out of a real prison and into a country club.

And so it goes when Trump replaces a sycophant – the replacement is ALWAYS worse.

I have worked with a number of truly outstanding leaders. Would never occur to me to say I loved them. Its bizarre. It’s a cult (of personality.)

@steve222: And would any of them not been repelled and embarrassed had you done so?

But it is perfectly normal for whores, which is what all of these people are.

Depends on what the meaning of “normal” is. In the Trump Era it’s certainly not unusual. After all, Mark Rutte called Trump “daddy”; his clarification made matters worse, explaining he’d meant Trump was a father figure to NATO.
